International Experience

Tala worked at the United Nations and the International Organization for Migration in Geneva, Switzerland. This experience gave her a deep understanding of global immigration and humanitarian issues.

Biography

Talayeh (“Tala”) Voosoghi is the founder of Tala Immigration Law LLC and practices exclusively in U.S. Immigration and Nationality Law. She has been a member of the State Bar of New York since 2010 and represents individuals, families, and businesses before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and Immigration Courts nationwide. She is also admitted to the Law Society of British Columbia, Canada.

Since February 2026, Tala has served as Of Counsel to Knezek Law in Lafayette, Louisiana, expanding the firm’s U.S. immigration practice. As of July 2026, she has also served as Of Counsel to Mobility Law, a Toronto-based immigration firm, advising Canadian clients on U.S. immigration matters.

Before entering private practice, Tala was selected by the Government of Canada as a Junior Professional Consultant with the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, where she worked on international security and post-conflict disarmament. She later joined the International Organization for Migration (IOM), focusing on emergency response and post-conflict operations. These experiences provided her with a strong foundation in international migration and humanitarian law.

Tala earned her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Calgary and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia, where she majored in International Relations and Political Science and minored in French. She was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in British Columbia in 2012.

As an immigrant herself, Tala understands the challenges of navigating the U.S. immigration system. She is committed to providing practical, responsive, and personalized legal representation, ensuring clients receive clear guidance and direct communication throughout their cases. Tala is fluent in English, French, and Farsi and also assists Spanish-speaking clients.

Lluvia Cornejo is a Mexican American and a first-generation daughter of two Mexican immigrants, which has heavily influenced her career choice. During college, she pursued knowledge in immigration law and secured a position at a reputable firm in Baton Rouge, where she gained six months of substantial legal assisting experience.

She served as President of the Latin American Student Organization, allowing her to connect with immigrating students from various nationalities.

After graduating, her admiration for Immigration Law grew stronger, leading her to continue serving the immigrant community as a Case Manager at Tala Immigration Law. In her role, she provides personalized support to immigrants, focusing on client needs while learning about various immigration pathways.

She aspires to attend law school and pursue a career in Immigration Law, with the goal of dedicating her life to supporting and advocating for the hardworking and resilient immigrant community.
