Biography

Tala Voosoghi is a dedicated professional with a sole focus on U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Law. As an active member of the State Bar of New York since 2010, she brings extensive expertise in representing clients before the USCIS and Immigration Courts throughout the United States. Tala’s commitment to her field extends internationally, as she is also admitted to the Law Society of British Columbia, Canada. Her passion for facilitating immigration processes and advocating for her clients underscores her reputation as a trusted legal advocate in the realm of immigration law.

Prior to attending law school, Tala was selected by the Canadian government to work as a Junior Professional Consultant at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. There, she focused on international security and post-conflict disarmament. Following this role, Tala continued her work in Geneva at the International Organization for Migration, specifically in the emergency and post-conflict unit. Tala’s experience at the United Nations and the International Organization for Migration has provided her with a deep understanding of global immigration and humanitarian efforts.

Tala obtained her Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from the University of Calgary in Calgary, Canada. Prior to this, she completed her undergraduate degree at the University of British Columbia, Canada, majoring in International Relations and Political Science, and minoring in French. In 2012, she was admitted as a Barrister & Solicitor in the province of British Columbia, Canada. Her academic and professional journey reflects her dedication to the fields of law and international relations.

Being an immigrant herself, Tala holds a unique understanding of the immigrant journey and the challenges that come with it. Her commitment to providing dedicated and personalized service ensures that your needs are given the utmost attention. Lluvia Cornejo is a Mexican American and a first-generation daughter of two Mexican immigrants, which has heavily influenced her career choice. During college, she pursued knowledge in immigration law and secured a position at a reputable firm in Baton Rouge, where she gained six months of substantial legal assisting experience.

She served as President of the Latin American Student Organization, allowing her to connect with immigrating students from various nationalities.

After graduating, her admiration for Immigration Law grew stronger, leading her to continue serving the immigrant community as a Case Manager at Tala Immigration Law. In her role, she provides personalized support to immigrants, focusing on client needs while learning about various immigration pathways.

She aspires to attend law school and pursue a career in Immigration Law, with the goal of dedicating her life to supporting and advocating for the hardworking and resilient immigrant community.

Yeimi Garcia is a first-generation Mexican American and is from Lafayette, LA. Growing up within the Hispanic Lafayette community, she realized the struggles many faced with immigration issues. Because of this, it inspired Yeimi to pursue immigration, and most importantly, the intersection of criminal law and immigration. 

Yeimi graduated magna cum laude and cum laude from Louisiana State University with her dual degree of Political Science and English with a minor in Philosophy. Additionally, she is an LSU Honors Scholar and was involved in LSU’s Latin American Student Organization as a Vice-President. 

Her commitment to criminal work can be seen through her previous experience working at the East Baton Rouge (EBR) District Attorney’s Office, the EBR Public Defenders, and the Baton Rouge City Court. Now she is a case worker at Tala Immigration!

Yeimi aspires to continue her love for immigration and criminal law at law school. She hopes to become a passionate immigration and criminal defense attorney and to bring the change she hoped to have for her community.
